Story.

[ 1 ] July 28, 2010 | Milan Ford

This fall, my wife and I will be heading to Chicago to attend a very unique gathering called Story. The primary purpose of this gathering is to provide creative ministry leaders with an opportunity to explore new ways of communicating the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Ben Arment, the creator of Story, is by far one of my favorite thinkers. His new book, Church In The Making, has been one we both have been peeking inside for several weeks now.

Aside from rubbing shoulders with him, we are equally excited to visit the city of Chicago; a city we’ve always wanted to visit when the weather would permit us to.

*Little Known Fact: My wife and I are beginning to believe we are allergic to cold weather.

    Milan,
I went to 83 Things.com hoping to leave a commment there as you instructed in your book. There wasn’t a comment section on the website. Anyway, I just finished reading it (received the free e-book for tweeting the women at CNN). The book was great in all aspects. It wasn’t your typical style book which I expected but it was fun to read. The first couple of pages had me cracking up. There were a few things I didn’t necessarily agree with, however, your reflections on the “black church” did make me think. I always wondered how and when many of our traditions came to being. I posted a stat on my facebook page about the book. I only have 192 friends on my page, people I actually know. So hopefully it will sparks someone’s attention. I’m excited about your new book. I would love to read why you call yourself a “survivor” or ministry. Take Care. God bless you and your family!
