The Sneetches.

[ 1 ] September 8, 2009 | Milan Ford

Read this classic Dr. Seuss book to my daughter Kayla a few weeks ago. After finishing it, I began to wonder if Dr. Seuss (also known as Theodor Seuss Geisel) even wrote this one for children. It’s hard to believe he didn’t have today’s church in mind.

Just in case you haven’t read the book, these two videos will sum it all up for you.

And to think this story was published more than 40 years ago.
Seems many of us are still consumed with who has ’stars upon thars.’

oh my goodness! i just read this to my daughter a couple of days ago and it made me think about society in general. about how people are concerned with what others have and don’t have and they try to make themselves appear more important by accumulating things. and people’s dissatisfaction with themselves because of their lack of what society says is the ideal (looks, clothes, education, etc.)

oh and dr. seuss said that the only books that he wrote for children were his “beginner books” series. he wrote the rest of the books to appeal to readers of all ages.
