Rest vs. Sleep.
I was asked by someone on Facebook late last night how it is that as a husband and father of three, I was able to find the time necessary to write and publish a book, while still working a full-time job.
She ended her message with this rather funny question: “Do you ever sleep?”
To be honest, I can’t remember the last time I needed an alarm clock to wake me up. Although an unhealthy habit to some, I rarely get more than 4 hours of sleep. I’m just kinda wired that way.
However, over the past few years, I have learned that there is incredible difference between sleeping and resting. I now personally prefer the latter. Scheduling daily, weekly, and even monthly periods of considerable time to rest and just enjoy life outside of your typical routine can restore a leader more than any amount of sleep can ever do.
To be honest, as it relates to some of the goals and dreams we as leaders have set for ourselves to accomplish, some of us have a habit of oversleeping. The snooze button has never proven itself to stop time.
Just you.

Ouch. Hurts, but necessary truth.
After constantly going for the past few years, I agree with you on the greater importance on resting. Most people that are productive are likely to sleep less if they rested more in between their scheduled tasks.
Nice website overhaul Milan. All the best in the new year.
You are killing me! Thanks
