People will suffer with self-imposed and others-inflicted discomfort because that's what they are used to and because they don't realize that there are other options - make more trains, wait on the next train, get up earlier and take an earlier train, move closer to work so you can walk or bike. We must have more than one option to get to our destination. I opt for options. Great post!
