Linchpin.
Today I am beginning to read a new book.
A book written by one of my favorite authors and leaders, Seth Godin.
The book is entitled Linchpin, and it is one I hope you will consider purchasing very soon. Here are just a few small excerpts to show you why:
Given the chance, you should choose to be indispensable. After all, if you’re the linchpin, the company has to treat you better. Pay you fairly. You won’t be the first to be shown the door in a slow period; in fact, you’ll be the last.
Not only do you have security, but you also have confidence. The confidence to make a difference in your organization and to do work that matters. If you can be human at work (not a machine), you’ll discover a passion for work you didn’t know you had. When work becomes personal, your customers and coworkers are more connected and happier. And that creates even more value.
When you’re not a cog in a machine, an easily replaceable commodity, you’ll get paid what you’re worth. Which is more.
Be sure to get your copy today.
Have a feeling you and I will be reading from this book for a pretty long time.

Looking forward to reading this one. So many people today are being layed off and downsized I have thouoght always that I would make myself so valuable to the company that I worked for that I would be the last person they would want to lay off. and it takes more than just being a good employee you have to add value to the company in a way that no one else does. I want to add value in the Kingdome of God.
Thanks for sharing!
Hey Ford.
I just finished reading Linchpin a few days ago. I’ve been looking over the major points throughout the book over the past few days.
Definitely strengthened my perspective. Wish more people were exposed to this.
The BIG IDEA that I got from the book is this…
“Most of what people do all day is roach stomping. The little tasks that distract us from the real art we should be creating.” -Seth Godin
