Knocking.

[ 2 ] May 6, 2008 | Milan Ford

What do you do when opportunity comes knocking, and you don’t have a peep hole in your door? As leaders, although we may ask opportunities to identify themselves (through prayer), sometimes they don’t.

Or sometimes they do, but they’re not who they say they are.

So when do you take a chance, and just open the door? (I ask because a new opportunity came knocking today for me)

This is just (I won’t cliche’ it as ironic), but on time. I have been drawing disability 8 years and have sought the Lord in regard to going back to work. I am not a man who likes living the home life because work was very fulfilling. I lead in various arenas in the church too. Without a definitive yes/no from God, I paused… thinking it best to wait. However, should the right opportunity come along, it’ll be presented. I can’t be lazy and do nothing and term it as “moving ahead of God”. “He knows the way that I take…”, but I have to take the way. Some opportunities have come, but I wouldn’t have experienced them if my door was unaswered. I feel God protects me so I have no fear to what’s behind the door. (Deepness aside — I have to remind myself it’s my opportunity; answer it)
