Digest.

This week, one of the greatest annual leadership gatherings / conferences in the country is happening right in my backyard (here in Atlanta). And for the first time in perhaps six or seven years…

…I am not attending it.

Not because there’s anything wrong with the conference itself. (It’s darn near perfect)
But rather because there is something wrong with me.

Just as I was preparing to click the ‘register’ button for this conference back in June, I started to get a strange feeling down in the pit of my stomach. A feeling most people all over the world (especially those who enjoy ‘eating out’) can identify with.

I realized that I was FULL.

After attending close to nine to ten leadership conferences this year, most of which were extremely life changing for me and the future of my family, I had come to the realization that I had already ate all the meat I can possibly eat (as a ministry leader) for one year without becoming sick.

So instead of doing what most ministry leaders do, which is to continue to eat while full…
…I decided to spend the rest of the year doing what most leaders don’t do: DIGEST.

  1. I totally get what you’re saying, but I am wondering what you believe “becoming sick” from attending too many leadership conferences looks like.

    • Brent says:

Rhonda, he could possibly mean that he’s had so much mental and spiritual “charging” that he needs to put all that revelation and realized potential into actual use. If I am correct, I am very familiar with the feeling. Most working people can equate it to having those frequent directors’ meetings in office spaces.

Too many meetings with little time to use the information and make the changes discussed in the meetings begin to make you “full” of information and “empty” of accomplishment or success.

I’m interested in Milan’s feedback though.
