Compliments.

[ 3 ] January 5, 2009 | Milan Ford

When did it become a sign of spiritual maturity to refuse to receive a compliment from someone?

Not sure, but it sure seems to be the accepted norm. Trust me: If someone pays you a compliment, saying “thank you” or “I appreciate that” will not rob God of anything.

Sometimes I wonder if many of our leaders today are spiritually bankrupt because they keep making deposits of gratitude they receive from others into an off-shore account.

Telling others that “it’s not you, it’s the Lord” is not always a sign of humility.
It fact, among the mature, it can be a real turn-off.

Leaders: Learn how to be appreciated.
God is not a boogie-man.

    Well said!

  2. I agree! When did we get so heavenly minded, that we are no earthly good. Accept the compliment graciously and give the praise to the Lord.
