Was reading 1 Kings 19:11-12 the other day in preparation for an article I wrote. This passage is always impressive to me when it comes to my personal pursuit of God in my life.
The passage states that God (when revealing Himself to Elijah) was not in the wind. Not in the fire.Nor was He in the earthquake.
Although God chose to come that way before (see Exodus 18:37-38; 41-45).
I have discovered that God, more often than not, tends to refrain from using a lot of pomp and circumstance when it comes to communicating with those of us who stand as leaders.
A small voice nowadays can go a long way with me.

On last night – my wife allowed me to sneak out to the movies and watch The Dark Knight, the newest installment of the revised Batman series. All I can say is…wow. An instant favorite of mine.
There was so many good things I could share about the movie. Outside of the incredible performance of the late Heath Ledger, there were two quotes within the movie that I will always remember.
The first…
“You either die a hero or live long enough to become the villian.”
The second…
“If you’re good at something, never do it for free.”
If today’s emerging church leaders can ever grab a hold of one of those two truths, what a glorious day it will be.
